Kqo?wledgePoints° A~ dable Tutoring Proven Resu~ Being that it is getting to be the middle of spring and close to summer, how do I bird and bug proof my home? Damon R. Binder Ge/leral Manage/ J~The best way to bird proof your home is to inspect all the possible places that the birds may want to nest. Soffit vents, top of gutter downspout bends, lights with fiat spots and so on. If your soffit vents or bird blocks have screens that are compromised, install 1/4 inch galvanized metal screen over the holes. On flat surfaces, you can get spike strips or using screen make a sudace that they will not like. As far as yellow jackets or other bugs, check window screens frequently. The yellow jackets like to build nests in open soffits. If this is happening spray the nest with the proper bug killer then remove the nest. In either case if you feel that you need help, contact your local Turnkey Repairs technician because if it's between the foundation and the roof we can help make your day a little smoother! I'm receiving unemployment Is this income taxable? Pat Wehmeyer Tax P/ofessional Normally, unemployment benefits are taxable and we recommend that you have taxes withheld from your benefits. But included in the recent stimulus package is a change. For 2009 only, the first $2,400 of unemployment benefits per taxpayer will not be taxed. It would still be a good idea to have taxes withheld because you might not know how long you will be receiving these benefits. Please call our office if you have any questions. i 0 i '1 We've: got you covered! J t l| ill, i|,,lli, , llmilmJlli
