Barry Knott Director of L ear n/og If young people don't engage in educational activities during the summer they WILL expenence some learning loss. The average student's test scorn is one month lower when they return to school in the fall than when they left in the spring. Summer learning loss is more pronounced in Math. Since Math is basically a sequential process, skills need to be learned in a particular order and they shouldn't move on until the previous skill is mastered. A lack of fundamental skills makes it difficult to progress to higher levels. What can you do to ensure success in the upcoming school year?. Boost your child's confidence. Raise their level of self-esteem. Having solid math skills is critical. Find a summer program, with individualized instruction, where your child can improve these skills and dramatically affect their confidence, self-esteem and academic success. '~! I constantly am finding water behind my toilet and I cannot figure out were it is coming from. How do I test my toilet for leaks? ~1~ There are many ways to check a toilet for leaks. Damon R. Binder The first way is to lay some toilet paper on a dried floor around the toilet about 1/4 inch from the base. Then Genera/Manager flush the toilet about six times. This should show were the source is coming from. Another way to find your source is to insert a leak finder tablet in the tank. These usually color the toilet water blue and that will also help locate the problem. Also check the tank itself, the fill tube for the bowl may have come loose from the tank and could be spraying water at the lid and causing a leak. If the bathroom does not have good ventilation and the bathroom is hot, and there is no air movement the air will be hotter than the toilet water and cause sweating of the toilet. There are also many gaskets that can go bad in the toilet, however if you cannot locate the water source secure the toilet at the wall and seek professional help. Always remember if it's between the chimney and the foundation, Turn-Key Repairs and Maintenance can help!
